Time, His Texture was composed in 2004-5 for the Bergmann Duo, who commissioned it with funds from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. I was interested in exploring how much I could alter the perception of the passage of time. Each of these 5 pieces has an identical structure and duration, but my hope was that this would be difficult or impossible to apprehend while listening. If I've succeeded, my ideal listener will say "that was the shortest (or longest) 2 minutes of my life."
